MD Handgun Qualification License (HQL)
MD Wear and Carry Permit
This four-hour Maryland Handgun Qualification License Course extensively covers handgun safety, shooting fundamentals, ammunition, malfunctions, fundamentals of shooting for accuracy, cleaning, escalation of force, relevant Maryland and Federal legal review. This course meets the training requirements to submit the application for MD HQL Permit for firearm purchase, including the required Live-Fire Portion.
You must submit an HQL Application to the Maryland State Police after completing both the class and Livescan fingerprints. We will guide you through the application process, state requirements, and live fire on the range. The Livescan fingerprinting is not included in this fee.
Multi-State Firearm Licenses
Four-hour course extensively covers handgun safety, shooting fundamentals, ammunition, malfunctions, fundamentals of shooting for accuracy, cleaning, escalation of force, relevant State and Federal legal review. This course meets the training requirements to submit applications for Arizona, Virginia, and Florida permits.
Wear and Carry Permits for the State of Maryland allow the approved individual to conceal carry in the state of Maryland. The applicant must have a good & substantial reason in order to be approved.
Wear and Carry Permit training is 16 hours of instruction for an original application and 8 hours of instruction for a renewal application. The approved training will include instruction on state firearm law, home firearm safety, handgun mechanisms and operation, and a component that requires the applicant to demonstrate gun safety and must complete a firearm proficiency examination.
